EC Finalises 42,761 Polling Centres and 244,649 Booths for 13th National Election

The Election Commission (EC) has released the final list of polling centres for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, confirming a total of 42,761 polling centres across the country.

“Across 64 districts and 300 constituencies, a total of 42,761 polling centres have been finalised,” said EC Secretariat Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed during a media briefing at the EC Secretariat in Agargaon on Monday.

According to the finalised data, there will be 115,137 booths for male voters and 129,602 booths for female voters, bringing the total number of polling booths to 244,649. “This figure represents the final count of polling centres and booths,” Ahmed said.

He also noted that 14 temporary polling centres have been arranged initially, where around 12,000 booths will be set up. “On average, each polling station will serve about 3,000 voters,” he said, adding that the figure may be adjusted later if required.

Earlier, on 10 September, the EC had published a draft list proposing 42,618 polling centres, with 114,939 male booths and 129,107 female booths, totalling 244,046 booths.

In the 12th National Parliamentary Election, there were 42,150 polling centres and 261,472 booths. While the number of polling centres has slightly increased this time, the overall number of booths has decreased compared to the previous election.
